Insurance for Vendors

Any vendor hired to provide a service on-site must be a professional business with the applicable licensing and business insurance.

Some, but not all, vendors are required to provide a certificate of insurance listing our venue as additional insured. This includes the caterer, planner or coordinator, DJ or other entertainment and the bar service provider. In some cases, we reserve the right to ask for a certificate of insurance listing us as additional insured for other vendors not listed. For example, a photo booth vendor may be asked to meet this requirement.

Even though we do not require proof of insurance from every vendor, all vendors that come to the venue are required to carry insurance. It is up to our couples to exercise due diligence in choosing which vendors to hire and ensuring they are properly licensed and insured.

Examples of Type of Insurance Vendors Carry

  • General Liability. All vendors.
  • Liquor Liability. Any vendor pouring alcohol, including champagne.
  • Workers Compensation. Any vendor with employees.
  • Commercial Auto. Any vendor with a vehicle or trailer used as part of their service.

Vendors who do not provide the insurance information, as specified in our contract with the couple, will not be permitted to work as a vendor at Irongate.

We expect our couples to work with professional business vendors for one of the most important events in their lives. Since professional businesses are used to this type of request from venues, we know this is an easy step, but don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
