Choosing Your Photographer

Choosing your photographer is one of those important tasks that have to be accomplished while planning your wedding day. There are so many out there. How do you choose? In today’s post, we will be discussing different things to keep in mind when selecting your photographer

Photos are so important to hanging onto those memories forever. You don’t have to pay an incredibly large amount to receive quality photos either.

When selecting your photographer, keep these things in mind –

  1. Engagement Photos
Do the photographers that you’re considering engagement photos in their package or do they charge extra? If they charge extra, is there a discount if you DO choose to do engagement photos? Even if you do not choose us as your wedding’s venue, we have amazing locations around our venue that would be gorgeous for engagement photos! Email us or give us a call to set something up with us and your photographer.
  2. Hours
How many hours are your photographers offering? We think couples should select a package 6 hours or more. We recommend 8 hours or more so they can capture every moment. From the moment you start getting ready to the send off at the end of the night.
  3. Style
Another big piece of advice – if you love the style your photographer uses in their sessions, whatever you do – do not try and ask them to change their filters! If you book them, you book them. So take your time, look through some of their galleries and make sure they are who you want capturing your wedding day. It may seem crazy, but this is one of the most important parts of your wedding day. Memories last a lifetime through photography.
  4. Connection
Having a good connection with your photographers is SO important to ensure that you will have a beautiful, stress free wedding. If you don’t have a wedding planner, sometimes they take that role on and make sure that everything is on track. If you communicate well with your photographer(s) about their duties on the big day – it’ll be much easier to enjoy the entire process a little bit more. From timeline completion to helping with the ceremony organization. Your photographer can definitely make or break your big day!

All in all, having a photographer at your wedding is very important. Whether you decide to do engagement photos or not, it’s completely up to you – but keep in mind that you could be missing out on some of the value!
